How DesignMend uses your details

Draft: awaiting legal review

This has not been checked by a solicitor and is not yet in force. Passages marked [LEGAL REVIEW] need a decision before this website goes live.

Who we are

DesignMend makes scheduling software for field-based teams. “We” means DesignMend.

[LEGAL REVIEW: add the registered company name, number and address once the company is registered, and confirm who the data controller is.]

Contact: hello@designmend.com. We reply Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (UK time), within one working day.

What we collect on this website

When you ask for a demo we ask for your name and work email address, and nothing else.

Right now the form doesn’t send your details to a server of ours. Pressing the button opens your own email app with a message already written, and the details reach us only if you press send. [LEGAL REVIEW: if a form service is added later, name it here and list it as a processor.]

We use them only to reply and to email you the demo video. Our email provider holds the messages. [LEGAL REVIEW: the provider, how long we keep demo requests, our lawful basis, and, if the video is sent as a link, where it is hosted.]

Cookies and other companies

This website sets no cookies and keeps nothing in your browser’s storage. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking. Its pages, fonts and images all come from this website; it loads nothing from other companies. [LEGAL REVIEW: name the website’s host once chosen, and confirm what server logs (for example IP addresses) it keeps and for how long.]

Cookies when you log in to DesignMend Fleet

If you log in to the DesignMend Fleet app, two cookies keep you logged in. They are strictly necessary for logging in, so we don’t ask for consent: they hold only your login session, the page’s own scripts can’t read them, and logging out removes them. They’re never used for tracking or advertising. The app’s cookie notice, on its log-in page, explains them in full. Stripe’s payment pages set their own cookies, explained by Stripe.

[LEGAL REVIEW: confirm that no consent banner is needed for these strictly necessary cookies.]

The DesignMend app

The app is separate from this website. A business’s vehicles, staff and jobs are kept in the browser on its own device, not with us. Apart from logging in and the subscription, the only thing the hosted app sends out is postcodes, to look up road distances. Logging in uses your email address and password, kept by our log-in provider, and paying for a subscription happens on our payment provider’s own pages. The app has its own privacy notice (Help & support, inside the app, and on its log-in page). [LEGAL REVIEW: name the log-in provider (Supabase, London region) and the payment provider (Stripe) as processors, and say what each holds and for how long.]

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Email us to make a request. [LEGAL REVIEW: the full list of rights, and how we respond.]

Changes

We’ll update this notice if what we do with your details changes, and show the date of the latest version here. [LEGAL REVIEW: add the date when approved.]
